Tom Wetmore is a Lecturer in the Discipline of Music at Columbia University's Department of Music. He holds a B.A. in Government from Cornell University, an M.M. in Jazz Studies (Performance) from William Paterson University, and a PhD from Columbia University. His research focuses on jazz, African American music, popular music, diaspora, modernity, cultural exchange, authenticity, and improvisation.
