Fernando Brandão is a Professor at Berklee College of Music, affiliated with the Ensemble Liberal Arts and Sciences department. A multifaceted flutist, composer, educator, and author, he specializes in Brazilian music, blending jazz improvisation with traditional and contemporary Brazilian styles such as choro, samba, and bossa. His career spans performances at major festivals like the Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival and venues including the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. He has authored the book Brazilian and Afro-Cuban Jazz Conception and released five albums as a bandleader.
