Tom V Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine. He holds a PhD from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and a BA from the University of Texas, Austin. His research focuses on tumor immunology, genetics, cell signaling, and neurobiology with a particular emphasis on developing next-generation cellular therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Dr. Lee’s work includes pioneering studies on CAR T-cell and NK cell engineering, leveraging induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to create off-the-shelf therapies. His research addresses challenges such as antigen escape, tumor heterogeneity, and immune evasion mechanisms. He has also contributed to advancements in endoscopy quality metrics, biomarker discovery for colorectal cancer, and genomic medicine for neurodegenerative disorders.
His recent publications highlight innovations in multiplexed CAR-T/NK cell targeting strategies, synthetic receptor engineering, and translational applications of cellular therapies. He has collaborated on projects addressing Alzheimer’s disease mechanisms, inhalation toxicology, and machine learning-driven healthcare optimization.
Key areas of interest include the development of therapies targeting B7-H3 in solid tumors, the role of TGFβ signaling in tumor microenvironments, and the integration of computational models to improve endoscopy protocols. His work bridges basic science discoveries with clinical applications in oncology, immunology, and neurology.
