Tom Petrowski is a Senior Lecturer and MCJ Graduate Advisor at Tarleton State University's School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Public Administration. He holds a JD from New England School of Law (1985) and a BS in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University (1981). With extensive FBI experience, he teaches Criminal Procedure, Homeland Security, and Ethics.
His research focuses on use-of-force policies, counterterrorism, and legal compliance in law enforcement. Published articles analyze Supreme Court guidance on excessive force, Miranda rights evolution, and counterterrorism case studies. Petrowski's work emphasizes practical applications for police training and constitutional standards.
Awards include the FBI's Manuel J. Gonzalez Ethics Award and CIA's George Bush Award for counterterrorism excellence. His FBI career spanned SWAT operations, terrorism task forces, and legal counsel roles.
