Tom Lovelace is a Lecturer at the Royal College of Art within the School of Arts & Humanities, specializing in photography, performance, and creative education. He has contributed to the MA Photography programme since 2016, serving as Lead Tutor for the end-of-year public exhibition, and has tutored on the PGCert and MEd in Creative Education since 2021.
His research interests encompass phenomenology, performance methodologies, histories of photography, and material matters. As an active practitioner, he maintains a curatorial focus on performance, the body, and contemporary photography through his role on the board of Peckham24, an annual London photography festival where he has curated numerous group exhibitions.
Outside the RCA, Lovelace serves as an External Examiner at Glasgow School of Art (2019-2024) and Goldsmiths, University of London (2023-present). He is currently completing doctoral research at Westminster University with a focus on contemporary photography and performance methodologies.
