Tom Elliott serves as Associate Director for Digital Programs and Senior Research Scholar at New York University, alongside his role as Adjunct Assistant Professor. Elliott specializes in digital geography, epigraphy, and ancient administrative studies. He pioneered projects like the Barrington Atlas gazetteer, co-founded the EpiDoc community for digital text encoding, and directed the Ancient World Mapping Center. His current work focuses on the Pleiades gazetteer, integrating archaeological data with open-source digital methodologies.
His publications emphasize digital tools' impact on classical scholarship, including seminal works on GIS applications and digital epigraphy.
