Tom Chodor is a Senior Lecturer in Politics & International Relations at Monash University's School of Social Sciences. He previously held positions at the University of Queensland and Australian National University (ANU). His research focuses on International Political Economy, Global Governance, and the transformation of the neoliberal world order post-2008 crisis. Current projects include an Australian Research Council-funded study on UN Guiding Principles implementation in Indonesia and examining US-China geopolitical competition's impact on global governance.
Education: B.A. (University of Auckland), B.A. (Honours) and PhD (ANU). Teaching commitments include courses on Global Governance and International Political Economy. His work addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals related to peaceful societies and sustainable development.
Research interests span global governance reforms, crime-development linkages, and pandemic governance. Recent articles analyze Australia’s COVID-19 regulatory state and the crime-development nexus in historical contexts. Collaborations include projects with the University of Melbourne and the Second Cold War Observatory.
Key contributions include critiques of pandemic governance models and studies on Latin American regionalism. He actively participates in international conferences and policy discussions on global economic governance and civil society roles.
