Tom Ashcraft

Tom Ashcraft is a Distinguished Professor of Art and MFA Director at Western Carolina University's School of Art and Design. With over 30 years of interdisciplinary practice, he combines object-making with community engagement through the art collaborative Workingman Collective. His work spans public installations and international exhibitions across the US, Europe, Caribbean, and Africa.

Currently, he leads a student team developing commissioned artwork for the US Embassy in Niamey Niger. His research explores contemporary art education, collaborative practices, and the intersection of art with architecture and ethnomusicology.
