Todd Potts

Todd Potts is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Katz School of the University of Pittsburgh, where he joined the faculty in 2025. Prior to this position, he served as a Professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

His educational background includes:

• PhD in Economics from the University of Georgia
• B.B.A. (Honors) from Mercer University

Dr. Potts' research spans monetary economics, applied time series analysis, energy economics, applied macroeconomics, and the economics of sports. His analytical work frequently employs quantitative methods to examine economic policy impacts, market behaviors, and specialized sectors like energy and sports economics. Publications appear in journals including the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of Sports Economics, and Energy Economics.

With extensive undergraduate and graduate teaching experience, Dr. Potts has supervised numerous PhD students in Business Administration and served as faculty advisor for the student investment club at his previous institution. His academic service includes committee memberships for doctoral candidates and student organization mentorship.
