Todd Cope is a Course Instructor in Clarinet and Woodwind Ensembles at McGill University's Schulich School of Music. He currently serves as Principal Clarinet of l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM). Previously, he was a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony in Miami. His teaching and performance career emphasizes orchestral and woodwind performance, with a focus on clarinet.
- Education: B.M. from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (studying under Richie Hawley), Professional Studies Certificate from Colburn School (Yehuda Gilad).
Research interests include applied clarinet pedagogy and ensemble direction, informed by his extensive orchestral experience. Cope has performed with leading orchestras and summer festivals, including Aspen, Eastern Music Festival, and National Repertory Orchestra. His performances have been featured on NPR’s Performance Today and From the Top.
Notable professional engagements include fellowships at the Music Academy of the West and American Institute of Music Studies in Graz, Austria. He is an active soloist, having performed with the New World Symphony and Eastern Music Festival Orchestra.
