معرفی
Prof. Dr. Tobias Sauter is a Visiting Professor at Humboldt University's Geographical Institute, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He specializes in climatic geography, focusing on climate dynamics, glaciology, and mountain hydrology. His research addresses glacier-atmosphere interactions, snow cover modeling, and the impacts of climate change on high-altitude regions such as Patagonia, the Alps, and the Tibetan Plateau.
Key projects include CliWaC (Climate and Water under Change in Berlin-Brandenburg), JOSTICE (studying the Jostedalsbreen ice cap), and SCHISM (snow cover dynamics on Hintereisferner). He has collaborated on interdisciplinary initiatives like the Urban Climate Under Change (UC)² program and the EbA project investigating meltwater availability in Central Asia.
His publications (2023–2025) emphasize glacier dynamics, snow redistribution, and climate modeling. Notable works address GLOF economic impacts in Nepal, föhn wind climatology in Patagonia, and fusion-based drought forecasting. Tobias Sauter's research integrates field observations, remote sensing, and numerical simulations to advance understanding of climate-sensitive systems.
