معرفی
Professor Tobias Loetscher is a cognitive psychologist at the University of South Australia (UniSA), affiliated with the Justice & Society school and the Cognitive Ageing and Impairment Neurosciences (CAIN) lab. His research focuses on cognitive rehabilitation, neuropsychology, and the application of virtual reality (VR) in healthcare settings, particularly for palliative care, neurodivergent populations, and disability support. He co-leads the CAIN lab and collaborates on projects addressing spatial neglect post-stroke and sensory room design for autistic adults.
Key research interests include numerical processing, laterality, and VR’s role in improving quality of life and clinical outcomes. Recent studies highlight VR’s efficacy in symptom management for palliative patients and skill development for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Loetscher’s work integrates interdisciplinary approaches, combining neurosciences, clinical sciences, and engineering to innovate solutions for cognitive impairments.
He supervises research degree students and contributes to peer-reviewed journals in areas like neuropsychological rehabilitation and virtual reality applications. His collaborations span academia and industry, including projects with organizations like My Ability Australia. Loetscher’s publications emphasize practical interventions, such as de-escalation training in disability care and mitigating cybersickness in immersive technologies.
