Dr. Tobias König is a researcher affiliated with the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB) and Humboldt University of Berlin. He has held a Post-Doc position since February 2013, focusing on public economics, taxation, and social policy. Previously, he was a Post-Doc at Leibniz University of Hannover (2011–2013) and completed his doctoral studies there (2007–2011). His education includes a Diploma in Economics from the University of Göttingen (2002–2006) and interdisciplinary studies in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (1999–2002).
His research explores social image concerns in welfare participation, tax equity frameworks, and fairness spillovers in economic behavior. Key projects include studies on self-control mechanisms in student surveys (CRC TRR 190) and norm violations in lab/field settings. He also investigates the political economy of public goods provision and welfare stigma effects.
Recent work includes analyzing relative consumption patterns and the impact of CEO compensation on worker morale. His publications appear in journals like Journal of Public Economics and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
