Tobias Keiling is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on phenomenology, ontology, metaphysics, and hermeneutics, with a particular emphasis on the works of Husserl, Heidegger, and Gadamer. He holds a PhD from the University of Freiburg and Boston College, and has held academic positions at institutions such as the University of Bonn and the University of Oxford. Keiling has received grants from the DFG and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, contributing to projects like the 'Phänomenologie und Metaphysik der Welt' research network.
His academic career includes fellowships at the Human Dynamics Centre (Würzburg) and visiting roles at the University of Chicago and Somerville College, Oxford. Keiling's work critically engages with Heidegger's later philosophy, exploring themes like temporal ontology, phenomenological methodology, and the interplay between language and existence. He is the author of Seinsgeschichte und phänomenologischer Realismus (2015) and co-editor of The Routledge Handbook of the Phenomenology of Agency (2020).
His publications span Research in Phenomenology, Epoché, and International Yearbook for Hermeneutics, addressing topics such as Heidegger’s concepts of 'Gelassenheit,' Trakl’s poetic legacy, and the philosophical implications of art and architecture.
