Tobias A. F. König

PD Dr. Tobias A. F. König serves as a Young Investigator at TU Dresden's Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry and leads a junior research group at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF). Holding Privatdozent qualification since 2021, he maintains dual affiliations with the university and research institute.

His research focuses on Colloidal Nanophotonics, developing optical materials through nanoscale engineering of colloidal systems. Current work involves light-matter interactions in structured polymer matrices and photonic crystal applications.

Dr. König received his Habilitation (Dr. rer. nat. habil.) in Physical Chemistry from TU Dresden in 2020, following a doctorate from University of Freiburg (2011) and Diplom-Physics from Hamburg/Karlsruhe (2008).

As IPF Junior Group Leader, he directs experimental work in nanophotonic material development while supervising doctoral candidates through TU Dresden's examination committee. His group collaborates with IPF's Physical Chemistry division on polymer-based optical systems.
