Tinaz Pavri is a Professor and Division Chair for Social Science and Education at Spelman College, where she also serves as Founding Director of the Asian Studies Program. Her academic leadership spans interdisciplinary units including Political Science, African Diaspora Studies, International Studies, and Economics.
Research Interests encompass security studies, conflict resolution (focusing on ethno-nationalist disputes), international political economy, national identity, and South Asian geopolitics. Her work emphasizes India-Pakistan dynamics and the political socialization of women in India.
Publications include a 2015 book on Bombay’s cultural history and analyses in journals like Negotiation Journal and PeaceReview, addressing nuclearization’s impact on conflict resolution and globalization’s effects on India’s economy.
Scientific Awards & Grants highlight funding from the Mellon Foundation, Lilly Foundation, U.S. Army War College, and programs like the Sophomore Summer Institute of the Institute for International Public Policy.
