Alka Jauhari is a Lecturer at the Department of Human Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, University of New Haven. Her academic work focuses on African and South Asian politics, conflict resolution, and the impact of globalization on development.
- B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Political Science from Lucknow University, India
Her research explores political, economic, and social challenges in Africa, including post-conflict reconstruction, genocide studies, and developmental trajectories. She also compares development issues between India and African nations, analyzing regional political-economic relations.
Her publications and presentations address topics like the Rwandan and Darfur genocides, globalization's economic effects, and peacebuilding in 21st-century Africa. She teaches courses such as African Politics, South Asian Politics, and International Organizations.
Dr. Jauhari leads experiential learning programs in France, Switzerland, and Belgium, and participates in panels on colonialism, terrorism, and human rights. Her independent study projects with students include topics like nuclear deterrence and the Washington Consensus.
