Tina Piracci is a Professor in the Judy Genshaft Honors College at the University of South Florida, where she teaches courses such as Art in Motion, Acquisition of Knowledge, Art + the Environment, and Curatorial Practices + Public Art. Her work bridges art, technology, and sustainability.
Her educational background:
- Master of Science in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on technology and sustainability, and certificates in teaching, remote learning, and new media.
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture and new media from the University of South Florida, with minors in electrical engineering, visualization and design, and entrepreneurship.
- Studied studio art abroad in Paris and London.
Piracci's research and creative practice centers on the integration of art and technology for environmental sustainability. Key areas include:

- Underwater sculptures for marine life restoration
- Ceramic 3D printing and robotics
- Using clay technology for clean water solutions (with Potters for Peace)
- Restoring oyster habitats with 3D-printed clay structures
She actively engages students through the Ceramics Club and the Honors crochet group, and leads collaborative research projects such as the oyster habitat restoration initiative. Piracci also founded a makerspace at UC Berkeley that connected global artists, engineers, and architects.
