Tina Noutsos is an Associate Professor and Division Leader of Global and Tropical Health at Flinders University. She previously held an Associate Professor position in the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University (2015–2021) and serves as a Senior Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist at Royal Darwin Hospital since 2010. Her expertise spans haematology, snakebite envenomation, and critical care medicine, with a focus on remote and Indigenous health in Australia.
Education: PhD (Menzies School of Research, 2021), MBBS (Flinders University, 1999), BSc (University of Melbourne, 1996).
Research focuses on snakebite-induced complications, such as thrombotic microangiopathy, and improving diagnostic tools like point-of-care testing for sepsis. She explores pharmaceutical interventions for snakebite and investigates healthcare disparities in remote populations. Her work also addresses antiphospholipid syndrome and blood group disparities in cardiac surgery patients.
Her recent articles highlight advancements in venom-induced coagulopathy detection, Indigenous health outcomes, and plasma exchange efficacy. She collaborates on global health initiatives to enhance care in underserved regions.
