Prof. Tina Malti is an Alexander von Humboldt Professor and Founding Director of the Humboldt Science Centre for Child Development at Leipzig University. She also leads the Humboldt Research Group for Child Development and previously founded the Centre for Child Development at the University of Toronto. Her work focuses on social-emotional development, child mental health, and interventions to promote healthy trajectories. She has over 250 publications and influences policy through research-practice partnerships. Malti chairs the International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD).
Research Interests: Positive development across childhood and adolescence; adverse experiences and violence involving children; psychosocial interventions. She employs longitudinal studies and multi-method approaches (e.g., psychophysiology, interviews) to understand development mechanisms.
