Tina Linville is an Assistant Professor of Art at Baylor University's Department of Art and Art History. She joined Baylor in 2022 after relocating from California. Her practice encompasses sculptures, installations, and collaborative projects that transform everyday materials into evocative works. Linville holds a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Washington, Seattle, and an MFA in Fibers from California State University, Long Beach.
Her research interests focus on material salvaging, cultural reclamation, and the intersection of art with community engagement. She has exhibited work nationally through venues like Textile Arts LA, the Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation, and the San Diego Art Institute. Beyond her studio practice, Linville founded a community mentorship program in 2020 and curated over 25 exhibitions through artist-run initiatives from her Northern California studio.
Her work emphasizes transforming undervalued materials into cohesive artistic statements, exploring themes of human ingenuity and cultural discard. Linville's artistic philosophy prioritizes rigorous playfulness and fostering curiosity through collaborative projects.
