Kayla Gibbons is a visual artist and educator affiliated with the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, where she teaches art history seminars. She earned a BFA from SVA (2011) and an MFA in Sculpture from Yale School of Art (2013). Her artistic practice explores material reclamation, transforming industrial remnants into sculptural forms that interrogate memory, labor, and cultural landscapes.

Her research bridges sculpture, monumentality, and the aesthetics of decay, informed by her upbringing as the daughter of a mechanic. She has exhibited internationally in Rome, Poland, and Turkey, and participated in residencies at Byrdcliffe Colony (2016) and Vermont Studio Center (2015).
