Tina Korani

Tina Korani is an Assistant Professor of New Media at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications within the College of Humanities and the Arts at San José State University. She is an Adobe Education Leader and co-founder of the Immersive Storytelling Lab, where she leads initiatives in digital innovation and experiential learning.

Her research focuses on educational technology, digital and creative literacies, human-computer interaction, and inclusive design. She explores how emerging technologies can enhance learning experiences and foster inclusive, engaging educational environments. Her work bridges design, media, and pedagogy, emphasizing user-centered innovation.

Her recent publications examine the role of extended reality in journalism and advertising, mobile health applications, and the integration of immersive technologies into design curricula. These works reflect a strong interdisciplinary approach combining media, technology, and social impact.

Tina Korani has advised student media and research projects through the Immersive Storytelling Lab and has presented her work widely at academic and professional conferences. She previously served as a teaching associate at Louisiana State University and held UX and graphic design roles in the U.S. and Iran. Her educational background includes an M.F.A. from Louisiana State University and a B.A. in Visual Communication from Art University of Tehran.

She is actively involved in advancing digital pedagogy and creative media practices, contributing to both scholarly and industry discourse.
