Tina Hsia is a Research Fellow at the School of Chemistry, Monash University, specializing in polymer chemistry with applications in mineral processing and membrane technologies. Her research integrates RAFT polymerization techniques with surface chemistry to develop innovative materials for industrial applications, particularly in mineral beneficiation and water treatment processes.
Her research interests focus on the development and application of specialized polymers, with particular emphasis on RAFT polymerization for creating functional materials. Dr. Hsia's work bridges organic chemistry, materials science, and chemical engineering, targeting practical applications in mineral processing and environmental technologies. Her expertise spans membrane technologies, surface modification, and the design of novel surfactants and polymers for selective separation processes.
Dr. Hsia's recent publications (2023-2024) demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary approach, combining polymer science with mineral processing challenges. Her work shows consistent focus on developing tailored polymer solutions for specific industrial problems, particularly in creating selective flotation agents and advanced membrane materials. The research demonstrates sophisticated understanding of structure-property relationships in polymer systems and their interactions with mineral surfaces.
As a Chief Investigator, she contributed to the project 'Design and synthesize highly selective RAFT copolymers for in-solution and for fabrication of affinity membrane absorber' (2022-2023), collaborating with Primary Chief Investigator Thang S.H. and Partner Investigator Pham H. Her research network includes multiple international collaborators across various institutions, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of her work in polymer chemistry and mineral processing applications.
