Timur Dogan is an Associate Professor at Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, directing the M.Arch. Program and leading the Environmental Systems Lab. He serves on the faculty advisory board at the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability and holds field memberships in the Department of Architecture, Department of City and Regional Planning, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Systems Engineering program.
- Education: Ph.D. (MIT), MDES (Harvard GSD), Dipl. Ing. in Architecture (Technical University Darmstadt, with distinction)
His research focuses on computational design methodologies for sustainable architecture, integrating building performance simulation, daylighting optimization, and urban geospatial analysis. Key contributions include novel daylight redirection systems, solar envelope techniques for zoning, and rapid urban energy modeling algorithms.
Recent work emphasizes performance-driven design workflows at both architectural and urban scales, with applications in passive climate control and sustainable urban planning. Publications demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches combining computer science and environmental design.
