Timothy P. Curran is the Vernon K. Krieble Professor of Chemistry at Trinity College, where he has served since 2000. He is currently on leave. His academic journey includes a B.A. in Chemistry (magna cum laude) from the College of the Holy Cross (1983) and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from MIT (1988). Postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School in enzymology/molecular biology preceded his industry experience at Alkermes, a biotechnology startup, and faculty roles at Holy Cross (1991–2000) before joining Trinity.

Curran’s research focuses on organic chemistry, enzymology, and molecular biology, with significant contributions through 33 peer-reviewed publications co-authored with 51 undergraduate students. His teaching excellence has been recognized with major awards, including the 2024 Career Achievement Award.
