Deirdre Hunter

Deirdre Hunter is a Lecturer in the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University, where she has guided undergraduate students since 1996. She also serves as Senior Vice President at JRI Developing Abilities, focusing on supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Her research and teaching interests span intersectionality, public health, and the prevention of violence in families and communities, with a focus on sexual assault, child abuse, and animal abuse. She emphasizes advocacy, policy, and direct service through partnerships with local organizations.
