Timothy M. James, PhD, is a Professor of History at the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB), where he has served on faculty since 2006 within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He holds dual administrative roles as Program Coordinator for the History Major and co-chair of the Honors Program Steering Committee, while advising both history majors and students in the Pre-Law track.

Dr. James's research centers on Mexican historical systems, with current projects examining Mexico's military justice framework and Afro-Mexican historiography (Afromexico).
