Timothy Lensmire

Timothy Lensmire is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota. His work bridges critical pedagogy, whiteness studies, and democracy in education.

• Antiracist education through critical pedagogies and radical democracy
• White racial identity formation in rural America using Black intellectual traditions
• Intersection of literacy, race, and power in classrooms

Recent publications analyze whiteness through Bakhtinian dialogism, Black mentorship frameworks, and the reproduction of white supremacy in intra-white relations. He co-edited a special issue on Black Lives Matter and rural education.
