Timothy J. Dugan Jr. is an Associate Professor of Theater at Bates College, currently on academic leave. He teaches courses in acting and directing, including Beginning Acting (THEA 261), Advanced Acting (THEA 362), and Introduction to Directing (THEA 250). His professional roles include actor (Equity/SAG-AFTRA member) and director, with notable directing credits like Angels in America, Stupid F#@!ing Bird, and Antigonick. He also acted in Eurydice and has extensive theater experience with companies such as Saratoga Shakespeare Company and Walnut Street Theatre.
Education: He holds an MFA in Acting from Temple University and a Certificate in the Michael Chekhov Technique from the Michael Chekhov Association. Professional development includes the 2021 Teacher Development Program with the National Alliance of Acting Teachers.
