Timothy Huffman serves as Professor of Mathematics and Director of the Actuarial Science Program at Northwestern College, where he founded the actuarial science program and integrates real-world industry experience into his teaching through a decade-long consultancy with Great West Casualty Company.
His educational qualifications include:
- Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- M.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- B.A. from Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska
Dr. Huffman's research centers on Fourier-Feynman Transforms, with publications spanning top-tier mathematics journals including Transactions of the American Mathematical Society and Journal of the Korean Mathematical Society. His industry work in predictive analytics directly informs his development of ADAPT, an industry-standard actuarial exam preparation platform, and demonstrates practical applications of mathematical modeling in insurance risk assessment.
He maintains active professional engagement as an academic correspondent for the Casualty Actuarial Society and through memberships in the Mathematical Association of America, American Mathematical Society, and Association of Christians in the Mathematical Sciences. Beyond academia, Dr. Huffman has dedicated 20 years to volunteer firefighting with Orange City, continuing a family legacy in emergency services established by his parents in Colorado.
