معرفی
Dr Timothy Burns is a Senior Lecturer in Physics at Swansea University, affiliated with the School of Biosciences, Geography and Physics. He is an Associate Member of the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology (Durham University) and a member of the Exotic Hadron Spectroscopy Network. His research focuses on theoretical hadron physics, particularly using quark models to study exotic hadrons, strong decay dynamics, and hadronic molecules.
Dr Burns has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed articles, exploring topics like tetraquark states, thermal QCD dynamics, and exotic hadron spectroscopy. His most recent works (2023–2025) investigate charmed baryons under extreme conditions and bottomonium spectral functions in thermal QCD. He has also been recognized with the Swansea University Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award (2018).
Dr Burns supervises PhD students in hadron physics, including studies on thermal QCD spectra and lattice QCD methods. He teaches modules like Quantum Mechanics I and Mathematics for Physicists I. Collaborations include the FASTSUM lattice QCD collaboration and international workshops on charm physics and hadron spectroscopy.
