معرفی
Prof Gert Aarts is a Theoretical Physics Professor at Swansea University's School of Biosciences, Geography and Physics. He holds a Personal Chair and serves as Director of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Advanced Computing (AIMLAC) and Head of the Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory group. His research focuses on QCD under extreme conditions, the sign problem in strongly interacting matter, quantum field theory, and advanced computational methods.
Research Interests: His work bridges quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and computational physics, with a focus on lattice field theory, stochastic quantization, and machine learning applications. He explores thermal QCD phenomena, baryon spectroscopy, and phase transitions using advanced numerical techniques. Key projects include studies on charm baryons, diffusion models, and the FASTSUM collaboration's thermal lattice QCD analyses.
Recognition: A Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales (2019), recipient of the Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award (2013–2018), and Leverhulme Research Fellowship (2013–2015). His research has been supported by STFC and other grants.
Supervision & Collaboration: Advises PhD students on lattice configurations, stochastic quantization, and diffusion models. Collaborates with the FASTSUM team and leads the AIMLAC CDT, fostering interdisciplinary research in AI and high-performance computing. Active in international conferences and publishes extensively in journals like Physical Review D and Nuclear Physics A.
