Dr Timothy Bradshaw is a Professor in Nursing & Midwifery at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work. His career spans clinical nursing, teaching, and research in mental health, with a focus on holistic care for individuals with serious mental health problems. He holds academic roles including Programme Director for the MSc in Advanced Practice Interventions in Mental Health (2015–2022) and has contributed to numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Dr Bradshaw’s research emphasizes improving physical health outcomes for people with psychosis, culturally adapted mental health interventions, and public/patient involvement (PPI) in education and research. He has collaborated with organizations like the Hearing Voices Network and Connect Support, integrating service-user perspectives into teaching and clinical skills assessment.
His publications span over 60 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work addressing family interventions in Indonesia, adverse childhood experiences linked to psychosis, and healthcare professional training through simulation. He has secured grants and led projects such as SCIMITAR (smoking cessation for severe mental illness) and HELPER (healthy living for early relapse prevention).
Awarded Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and former Fellow of the European Association of Nursing Science, Dr Bradshaw has mentored academics in South Africa and delivered workshops internationally. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in health equity and global partnerships.
