معرفی
Timothy Beischlag is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University (SFU). He holds a BS, MSc, and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto, followed by postdoctoral research at UCLA and UCSD. His career includes roles at Pennsylvania State University before joining SFU in 2007.
Research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying environmental stimuli responses, including environmental contaminants (e.g., PCBs) and hypoxia-driven cancer metastasis. Key projects include aryl hydrocarbon receptor-mediated gene transcription and the role of retinoblastoma (Rb) protein in hypoxia-induced tumorigenesis.
Teaching includes BISC 499 D100 Undergraduate Research II in Summer 2025. Over 20 years of academic work has produced influential studies in toxicology, cancer biology, and molecular pathways, as seen in publications like "Endosomal recycling and dopamine neurotransmission" (2022) and "The aryl hydrocarbon receptor complex" (2008).
