معرفی
Dr. Tim Ward is a Professor of Civil Engineering and Dean Emeritus of Engineering at Manhattan University. Previously, he served as Dean of the School of Engineering (2008–2023) and held academic roles at the University of New Mexico (1997–2008) and New Mexico State University (1980–1997). He earned his BS and MS in geological engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and his PhD in civil engineering from Colorado State University.
His research focuses on surface water hydrology, hydraulic systems modeling, sediment transport, and watershed management. He has conducted fieldwork across the western U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia. Key contributions include advancing the Curve Number method for rainfall-runoff estimation and interdisciplinary river basin modeling in New Mexico. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and its Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI), and recipient of the 2013 Arid Lands Hydraulic Engineering Award.
Dr. Ward has led over 50 research projects and 35 consulting engagements, yielding over 200 publications. Notable collaborations include a 12-year interdisciplinary study on New Mexico’s river basins. His honors include the Boggess Award (1990) and the Frank Bromilow Excellence in Research Award (1989).
He has advised students and teams on projects addressing erosion control, water quality, and arid zone engineering. His academic service includes roles as department chair, assistant vice president for research, and program director. He also established an environmental engineering program at Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan through international partnerships.
