Dr. Tim Smartt is a Lecturer and Research Associate in Philosophy at the Institute for Ethics & Society, University of Notre Dame Australia in Sydney. He co-convenes the Moral Philosophy & Ethics Education research program. His expertise spans epistemology, ethics, decision theory, and social/political philosophy. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney (2025), with earlier degrees from the same institution, and has held visiting research positions at Princeton University, King’s College London, and the University of Chicago. His work bridges contemporary analytical philosophy with historical traditions, emphasizing practical rationality and ethical accountability.
