Professor Tim Reddel is a leading academic in social policy and governance at The University of Queensland (UQ). He holds the position of Professor (Social Solutions) at the Institute for Social Science Research within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. His work focuses on enhancing public policy impact through collaborative partnerships between researchers, policymakers, and citizens. Prior to joining UQ in 2019, he held senior roles in the Australian Public Service, including Deputy Coordinator General for Remote Indigenous Services, and contributed to the Department of Social Services’ Policy Office. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Griffith University's Cities Research Institute.

Research Interests
Professor Reddel’s research emphasizes place-based policy interventions, participatory governance, locational disadvantage, and implementation science. He co-edited Community and Local Governance in Australia (2005) and has published widely on topics such as Indigenous policy, evidence-based strategies for social policy, and equity frameworks. His current work includes evaluating programs like the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP) and advancing place-based solutions for housing and social equity.

Recent funding includes projects on place-based road safety, Queensland housing analysis, and the Empowered Communities Partnership. He leads the Social Solutions Group, which prioritizes policy impact through collaborative research.
