Dr. Tim Heffernan is a Lecturer in Anthropology and Development Studies at the Australian National University's School of Archaeology & Anthropology. He holds a Ph.D. in Social Science (Anthropology) from the same institution. His research focuses on crisis recovery, kinship dynamics, and community resilience in the face of environmental and economic disasters. He co-edited The anthropology of ambiguity (2024), exploring ambiguity's role in shaping human connections during crises. Current projects include community-driven disaster recovery strategies in Australia and Northern Europe, and mental health interventions in schools post-disaster.
