Dr. Till Hennings is a Research Fellow at the University of Hamburg's Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures, affiliated with Medieval History and E Archiving Artefacts research groups. His work examines material aspects of medieval manuscripts through interdisciplinary approaches.
Research focuses on:
- Material history of Carolingian-era documents
- Chemical analysis of writing materials
- Social contexts of medieval charters
Publications demonstrate expertise in technical analysis of inks and paleography. Key projects include RFE08 'From Instrument to Document' (2019–2025) and SFB 950 sub-project C08 on East Frankish manuscripts.
