Tijmen Wisman is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, holding positions at the Kooijmans Institute and Law & Technology departments. His research focuses on privacy implications of EU IoT policies, mandatory smart systems (e.g., eCall, smart meters), and digital governance frameworks. He coordinates courses on Internet Governance, Privacy & Data Protection, and International Business Law, and oversees master’s dissertations in Internet, Intellectual Property, and ICT.
Education: PhD in EU IoT policy and privacy (defended 2019), prior work at RFID Platform the Netherlands. Research affiliations include the 'Boundaries of Law' and 'Transnational Legal Studies' programs.
