Dr. Tianze Sun is a Research Fellow at the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research at The University of Queensland, affiliated with the School of Psychology under the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. She completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science (2019) and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (2024) at UQ.

Her multidisciplinary research evaluates public health policies to reduce youth substance use harm, integrating generative AI, large-scale epidemiological data, and social media data mining. Key focus areas include e-cigarette/tobacco control, digital platform monitoring, and policy optimization.
Recent publications (2024-2025) analyze youth tobacco/e-cigarette trends, social media content influence, tax policy effects, and multichannel advertising. Her work appears in JAMA Pediatrics, Addiction, and Tobacco Control, with media coverage in The Guardian and Forbes.
Dr. Sun actively supervises students and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams. She participates in projects like NHMRC MRFF-funded vaping policy initiatives and co-authored 59 peer-reviewed works.
