Coral Gartner

Professor Coral Gartner is Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence on Achieving the Tobacco Endgame at the University of Queensland. An international authority on nicotine regulation, she pioneered research on e-cigarettes and tobacco harm reduction strategies.

Her current ARC Future Fellowship examines tobacco policy transformations toward societal benefits. Recent work analyzes illicit tobacco markets and vaping regulation frameworks, informing Australia's prescription-only nicotine product policy.

As Regional Editor for Tobacco Control and past-president of SRNT-Oceania, Professor Gartner leads research assessing novel nicotine products for smoking cessation in high-risk populations. She develops evidence supporting tobacco 'endgame' strategies to eliminate cigarette-related disease burden.
