Dr. Tianxi Wang is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Essex since September 2007. He holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics (2009), an MSc in Pure Mathematics from Beijing University (1999), and a BE in Materials Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University (1996). His research focuses on contract theory applications, financial markets organization, and monetary policy, with a particular emphasis on bank liquidity, interbank networks, and systemic risk. He has supervised PhD student Avesta Taha Abdulrahman.
Wang's research explores topics such as money creation mechanisms, bank size dynamics, and the impact of technological change on income distribution. His recent work includes analyzing public support for SMEs during crises and modeling interbank network formations. He has published in top journals like the Journal of Economic Theory and International Journal of Central Banking.
His articles consistently address themes of financial stability, monetary policy efficacy, and the structural dynamics of banking systems. Wang is open to supervising research in contract theory, financial market organization, and monetary economics.
