Zijian Wang

Zijian Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University. His research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary economics, and digital payments, with a particular emphasis on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), financial regulation, and payment system design. He investigates topics such as privacy in digital platforms, monetary policy transmission mechanisms, and the interplay between information asymmetry and market outcomes.

His work spans theoretical frameworks addressing issues like money laundering in CBDC environments, oligopoly banking dynamics, and interest rate behavior under the Fisher equation. He also explores liquidity constraints in asset markets and signaling mechanisms in competitive search equilibrium.
