Tia Whyman

Tia Whyman is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the UWA Medical School and affiliated with the UWA Centre for Child Health Research and The Kids Research Institute Australia. Her work bridges Aboriginal health, psychology, and Indigenous sovereignty, with a focus on cultural identity, lateral violence, and community-based research methodologies.

Her research spans diverse areas such as:

• Planetary health and Indigenous sovereignty
• Coping strategies for lateral violence in Aboriginal communities
• Cognitive skills and impulsivity in post-pandemic childhood development
• Qualitative methodologies including yarning and thematic analysis
