Professor Thomas Widjaja holds the Chair of Business Information Systems at the University of Passau since 2016 and serves as a principal investigator in the DFG Research Training Group 2720 'Digital Platform Ecosystems (DPE)'. His academic journey includes doctoral and habilitation degrees from Technische Universität Darmstadt, and visiting scholar roles at the University of Maryland, IESE Business School, and the University of British Columbia.
His research explores data-based business models, privacy implications of digital platforms, and IT architecture management. He emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to analyze how corporate networks influence data disclosure decisions and affect socioeconomic development.
