معرفی
Dr. Thomas Walker is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Biomedical And Life Sciences at Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine (FHM). His research focuses on immunology, cancer biology, and infectious diseases, with particular attention to innate immunity and tumour microenvironment dynamics. He is affiliated with the Microbes, Pathogens and Immunity research group.
Key research interests include the mechanistic links between tumour cell innate immunity and immunostimulatory states, as well as the role of infections in cancer aetiology. His work integrates molecular biology techniques to explore inflammatory pathways triggered by transcription stress, exemplified by his 2025 Nature Structural and Molecular Biology publication on IL-1α-mediated inflammation.
Dr. Walker has presented orally on topics such as biopanning immunoglobulin repertoires and STING signaling pathways in cancer contexts. His research bridges basic science and clinical implications in immunology.
