Thomas Stoerk

Thomas Stoerk is a Visiting Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics and Political Science, and Guest Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics. He concurrently serves as a Climate Advisor at the National Bank of Belgium. Previously, he held positions including Policy Officer at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action and Post-Doctoral Economist at the Environmental Defense Fund.

He holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. His research examines climate economics, policy evaluation, air pollution control, and carbon market design, with emphasis on empirical analysis of environmental regulations and climate impact quantification.

Stoerk's publications demonstrate consistent focus on decarbonization pathways, emissions trading systems, and economic risk assessment of climate tipping points. His work frequently employs integrated assessment models and empirical policy evaluation methods, with geographic emphasis on China, the EU, and global climate governance frameworks.
