Dr Thomas Pienkowski is a Research Fellow at the University of Kent’s Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) and a member of the E3 Sharing Space for Nature initiative. He previously held a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Imperial College London (2022–2025), focusing on scaling conservation actions. He earned his DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2022, studying mental health and nature conservation linkages.
His research integrates quantitative and qualitative methods to address cross-disciplinary challenges in conservation science. Key themes include planetary health, scaling conservation initiatives, and analyzing conservation abandonment. He has worked across Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, and East Asia, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration.
